S.M.A.R.T. attribute data

S.M.A.R.T. attribute data appears when you select a device in the main window and click the More button. S.M.A.R.T. attribute data provided by Cropel Hard Drive Diagnostic software includes the following:

  • Attribute ID and its name.
  • Value - the last known normalized attribute value. The higher the value, the better.
  • Worst - the worst normalized value for the lifetime of a device.
  • Threshold - a minimum allowed normalized value for an attribute, as set by a device vendor.
  • Raw - the last known attribute value shown in hexadecimal. Generally, Raw values don't have standard interpretations.
  • Failure predictions - can be one of the following:
    • No problem,
    • Not available - is displayed for the attribute IDs 190, 191 and 194 (temperatures and G-sense error) and for those attributes for which it was impossible to get a prediction (e.g. due to a network problem).
    • Imminent as an indication of imminent failure or an estimated time to a failure.

When you select an attribute from the list, a chart with recorded attribute values, according to Cropel Hard Drive Diagnostic software database, is displayed. Charts can be one of the following types:

  • a history chart- S.M.A.R.T. attribute values are displayed as a function of time;
  • a frequency chart - S.M.A.R.T. attribute values are displayed according to frequency of occurrence of a value. Such a chart is available only for some attributes, e.g. for the attributes with ID 190 and 194 (temperatures).
